Service Projects

Here's what we're supporting in 2016-2017

Community Projects

• 10,000 Degrees: Giving motivated low-income students a chance to attend college

• Audubon Canyon Ranch: School field trips that children from low-income urban neighborhoods an opportunity to experience nature

• Bel Aire School's Liberia Project: Local students' ongoing efforts to support their sister school in Liberia

• Canal Alliance: Classes in English as a Second Language for immigrants

• Dave Hutton Rotary Award for Service Above Self: Annual award to a graduating eighth grader at Del Mar Middle School, who has a record of outstanding community service

• Dictionaries: Full-color illustrated children's dictionaries to every third grader in local public schools each year

• Eagle Scouts: Financial support for Eagle Scout projects

• Global Book Exchange: A local non-profit that collects lightly-used books and redestributes them to teachers at schools with limited budgets, disadvantaged families and non-profits that serve children, as well as needy schools throughout the world

• Marin Villages: Programs that allow senior citizens to stay in their own homes.

• Pathway Home: A program in Napa County that provides treatment for veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

• Rotary Youth Leadership Awards: A camp where high school juniors and sophomores get a chance to develop their leadership skills

• Service to the Community Awards: Recognition for people who serve the community in meaningful ways, but don't often get acknowledgment

• St. Vincent de Paul: Helping Marin County's neediest residents obtain nutritious food, affordable housing, meaningful employment and a voice in the community

• Teacher of the Year Awards: Annual awards to outstanding teachers whose unique projects give children a worldview that encourages them to become global citizens

• Tiburon's Green Team: Volunteers who plant, weed, prune and trim landscaping in public places to keep our comunity beautiful


• Aid to Nepal: Food packages for survivors of a devastating earthquake

• Ebola Relief: Medical supplies to help stop the spread of Ebola Virus Disease and scholarships for 10 children to attend school, after the epidemic left the country economically challenged

• Microcredit in Eucador: Training in job and entrepreneurial skills and extending microloans so people in Esmeraldas can start their own businesses and become self-sufficient

• Rotaplast International: Volunteer medical teams who travel around the world to provide life-changing surgery for children with cleft-lip and palate

• Trade School in Uganda: Sewing machines and other equipment so young people can learn a trade that will make them employable
